Watermelon Cake

Watermelon Cake : Stoney Clover Lane

With Coachella coming up we are obsessing over our watermelon charms, so we were inspired to create a cake to match! And it tasted just as good as it looked! LUCK + LOVE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • Vanilla icing
  • Pink, green, and yellow food coloring
  • Chocolate chips
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Add some pink food coloring to the batter (creates watermelon color because the cake is yellow cake)
  3. Add a handful of chocolate chips
  4. Pour into two circle pans to make two layer cakes
  5. Bake for 28-32 minutes
  6. Let the cakes cool
  7. Add pink and yellow food coloring to half of the vanilla frosting to create watermelon color
  8. Add green food coloring to the other half of the vanilla frosting
  9. Frost one cake layer with watermelon color frosting, and place the other layer on top
  10. Frost the entire top of the cake with the watermelon color frosting
  11. Frost sides and top rim of the cake with green frosting
  12. Add chocolate chips on top for seed decoration
  13. Slice and eat!

Easter Peeps Cupcakes

Easter Peeps Cupcakes : Stoney Clover Lane

Easter means PEEPS, and we have a ton around the office, so we couldn’t wait to make cupcakes inspired by our favorite Easter treat! LUCK + LOVE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Funfetti cake mix
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Pink, yellow, and blue sugar topping
  • Cupcake decorations
  • Peeps
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Pour into cupcake tin about halfway
  3. Bake for about 20 minutes
  4. Let cupcakes cool
  5. Frost with vanilla frosting
  6. Dip each cupcake into each color sugar
  7. Decorate, and enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Heart Cake

Valentine's Day Heart Cake : Stoney Clover Lane

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • Vanilla icing
  • Sweethearts candy
  • Pink and red food coloring
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Add some red food coloring to the batter for red colored cake
  3. Pour half of batter into a square tin and half into a circle tin
  4. Bake for 28-32 minutes
  5. Let the cakes cool
  6. Cut the circle cake in half, to be used for the top of the heart
  7. Place the square cake so it looks like a diamond, and add the halves of the circle cake to the top sides
  8. Frost the entire cake as a whole (we made pink frosting!)
  9. Decorate with sweethearts!

Microphone Cake Pops: Grammys Party

Microphone Cake Pops for Grammys Party : Stoney Clover Lane

We made the cutest (and easy) microphone cake pops to celebrate the Grammys! LUCK + LOVE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Mini ice cream cones
  • White chocolate melt
  • Sprinkles & glitter to decorate
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Bake normally: about 28-32 minutes
  3. Let cake cool
  4. Once cool, crumble cake into a large bowl
  5. Add about 3/4 container of vanilla frosting, and mix together
  6. Let cake/frosting mixture cool in the refrigerator for 30 min to an hour
  7. Meanwhile, add some vanilla frosting to the bottom of each mini cone to fill the lowest inner portion
  8. Once cake/frosting mixture is cool, scoop a ball into each cone
  9. Melt the white chocolate, and dip each cone: creating a white layer on the top
  10. Then dip each in the sprinkles/glitter (or whatever you prefer)
  11. Enjoy!

Super Bowl Cupcakes

Another fun dessert we can’t wait to serve this Super Bowl Sunday! LUCK + LOVE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • Vanilla icing
  • Rainbow sprinkles
  • Green food coloring
  • Football party picks (we used these)
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Pour into lined cupcake tins
  3. Bake for 28-32 minutes
  4. Let the cupcakes cool
  5. Frost opposite edges of each cupcake with vanilla frosting, leaving the middle un-frosted
  6. Dip the cupcakes in the sprinkles, so they cover the vanilla frosting
  7. Frost the middle of the cupcakes with green frosting
  8. Add lines of vanilla frosting for the field
  9. Place a football party pick in each, and enjoy!
