Watermelon Cake

Watermelon Cake : Stoney Clover Lane

With Coachella coming up we are obsessing over our watermelon charms, so we were inspired to create a cake to match! And it tasted just as good as it looked! LUCK + LOVE

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • Vanilla icing
  • Pink, green, and yellow food coloring
  • Chocolate chips
  • Vegetable oil
  • Eggs

Directions:

  1. To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
  2. Add some pink food coloring to the batter (creates watermelon color because the cake is yellow cake)
  3. Add a handful of chocolate chips
  4. Pour into two circle pans to make two layer cakes
  5. Bake for 28-32 minutes
  6. Let the cakes cool
  7. Add pink and yellow food coloring to half of the vanilla frosting to create watermelon color
  8. Add green food coloring to the other half of the vanilla frosting
  9. Frost one cake layer with watermelon color frosting, and place the other layer on top
  10. Frost the entire top of the cake with the watermelon color frosting
  11. Frost sides and top rim of the cake with green frosting
  12. Add chocolate chips on top for seed decoration
  13. Slice and eat!
