These festive cakes are so fun to make and so pretty to look at!
Ingredients:
- 1 box of classic white cake mix
- Vanilla icing
- Food coloring
- Assorted sprinkles/decorations
- Vegetable oil
- Eggs
Directions:
- To make the batter, follow directions on the cake mix box
- Separate the batter into three bowls, with 1/2 in one bowl and a 1/4 each in the other two
- Add red and green food coloring to the bowls with 1/4 batter, blue to the other with 1/2, and mix
- Fill cupcake trays with about the same number of blue versus red and green combined , until about 2/3 full
- Bake for 18-21 minutes
- Let the cupcakes cool
- Trim the cupcakes so they are all about the same shape and width (tip: use a cookie cutter)
- Frost one layer of cake with vanilla icing, add another cake on top, and repeat
- Decorate!
